Alnwick Castle is known as the ‘Windsor of the North’ and was used as a filming location in the first Harry Potter movies. We’ll start the day shooting the exterior of Alnwick Castle from viewpoints around the town of Alnwick and along the banks of the River Aln. We’ll also look for interesting details and architecture in Alnwick. We’ll then move on to Hulne Park and spend the afternoon walking through this wonderful wooded park at the edge of the town.

Useful Information

This workshop is suitable for photographers of all levels of experience and ability, from absolute beginners to those with more experience. The group size is limited to eight to allow Jason and David to devote ample time throughout the day to every participant.

Bring with you the camera equipment (camera, lenses and filters) you already own and would normally take out for the day. A tripod will be useful, but don’t worry if you don’t have one: it's not essential and we may be able to lend you one for the workshop.

There is likely to be an autumnal chill so wear layers to keep you warm, and bring waterproofs with you just in case. You will also need sturdy and comfortable waterproof walking boots. There will be a good amount of working, though nothing too strenuous A good level of fitness and mobility is recommended, however.
