Private Landscape Photography Tuition in the Lake District / Cumbria with Jason Friend
Discover the breathtaking beauty of Cumbria with award-winning landscape photographer Jason Friend on a private one-on-one (or one-on-two) photography workshop. Whether you're just starting out in photography or looking to take your skills to the next level, these tailored sessions offer a fantastic opportunity to learn at your own pace in one of the UK’s most photogenic regions.
Jason’s private Lake District landscape photography tuition is designed to be flexible, engaging, and inspiring. Over the course of a six-hour session, you’ll receive hands-on guidance to improve your composition, master camera settings, and develop your creative vision. You can choose the locations you’d like to photograph, or let Jason guide you to some of his favourite spots across Cumbria and the Lake District National Park. From rugged fells to peaceful lakes, windswept coastlines to historic market towns — the choice is yours.
The photography workshops run throughout the year, with weekday and weekend availability. Once your booking is confirmed, Jason will be in touch to finalise the session details including time, location, and your learning goals. If you'd like to book more than three months in advance, feel free to get in touch to check availability.
Why Choose Landscape Photography Tuition in Cumbria?
Cumbria is a landscape photographer’s dream. Home to England’s highest mountains, largest lakes, and the iconic Lake District National Park, it offers endless inspiration and variety. Yet there’s much more to explore beyond the Lakes — from the rolling Howgill Fells and wild northern Pennines, to the expansive views across the Solway Firthand Irish Sea.
Having published two acclaimed photography books on the region — The Spirit of Cumbria and The Cumbria Way — Jason has an intimate knowledge of the landscape and its hidden gems. He’ll be happy to share some of his favourite locations, or you can choose to explore your own.
No matter your experience level, you’ll leave the workshop with new skills, creative inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the stunning landscapes of Cumbria and the Lake District.
