Explore and photograph Amble & Druridge Bay on this new 2025 Northumberland Landscape Photography Workshop delivered by two professional landscape photographers based in Northumberland.

Amble is Northumberland’s ‘Friendliest Port’ as well as being a charming and interesting village.
We’ll start the workshop on the seafront at Amble looking for photo opportunities around the harbour and along the pier. We’ll then move on to the sandy beaches of Low Hauxley and Druridge Bay. We’ll finish the day off in the village of Warkworth and the River Coquet, from where there are picturesque views of the ruins of Warkworth Castle.
Useful information
This workshop is suitable for photographers of all levels of experience and ability, from absolute beginners to those with more experience. The group size is limited to eight to allow Jason and David to devote ample time throughout the day to every participant.
Bring with you the camera equipment (camera, lenses and filters) you already own and would normally take out for the day. A tripod will be useful, but don’t worry if you don’t have one: it's not essential and we may be able to lend you one for the workshop.
The Northumbrian coast can be cold and windy in December so wear layers to keep you warm, as bring waterproofs with you just in case. You will also need sturdy and comfortable waterproof walking boots or even wellies. The coast is largely flat and the walking easy. A good level of fitness and mobility is still recommended, however.

Jason Friend
A Whitley Bay resident for over 20 years, Jason Friend is an award-winning professional photographer that specialises in landscape and travel photography. Jason’s photography career has spanned over two decades with many incredible highlights including publishing a best-selling book, working for iconic brands such as Microsoft and National Geographic, exhibiting at the renowned Joe Cornish Gallery, and being personally invited to photograph a member of the royal family.
David Taylor is an award-winning landscape and travel photographer, born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne. His Northumberland landscape photos have been used by local businesses, councils and tourism organisations including the Northumberland National Park Authority. His photographic work has appeared in a number of national and regional magazines, and he has also written and contributed to more than forty books about photography and photographic techniques.
