Congratulations to the cyclists! Well done achieving 30 miles on Sunday! (an impressive 5 miles in excess of what was initially planned for the sponsored bike ride!)
The circular route allowed us to take in countryside views as we travelled from Holywell to Blyth, followed by coastal views whilst cycling south from Blyth to Seaton Sluice and onto Whitley Bay. Cullercoats was our next destination, followed by a well earned rest at Longsands beach, Tynemouth, where ‘Crusoe’s Cafe’ generously provided a refreshing ice-cream for the team!
Our inland return route took us from the Tyne River up to the Wagonway, route 10 and north back to Holywell.
We’re very proud of the children, all aged 10 an under and we’d like to thank all the riders for their determination and dedication! It was certainly a 2 ice-cream day!!!!
Our event wouldn’t have been successful without all the generous sponsors from friends, family and members of the public. We’re just finalising the amount over the coming days so will update you shortly, but so far it’s over £100. In the meantime, if you’d still like to sponsor us, you can do so via the link on this page.
A big ‘Thank you’ to Cullercoats Bike & Kayak Rentals for loaning the adult bike for the main event, plus training events, it certainly rode nicely! We’d like to extend our thanks to Crusoe’s Cafe, the cycling team and everyone who has sponsored us.
